Ed was excellent! My Husband and I were very
concerned about the choice of DJ. We had both
been to events where the DJ was very
distracting.
We knew what we DIDN'T WANT—someone who was
obnoxious, loud, used a cheap sound system that
made their voice muffled and inaudible, and that
basically turned the party into a sleazy night
club. We didn't know exactly what we DID WANT
until we used Ed! He was clear and audible when
we needed him to make announcements and
otherwise blended into the background when the
party was going on.
The music selection was perfect—always
complimenting the mood and never drawing undo
attention to itself. We would DEFINITELY
recommend DJ Ed Witles to anyone who wants a
class act for their special day.

In a word, your service was absolutely
“Outstanding.”
Between our contacting you many months
ago up until the day of the event, you
did an incredible job facilitating
communications, guiding us through the
process, incorporating all of our
suggestions, and providing advice and
suggestions. And let me dwell on that
last point for a minute. The sheer
number of weddings you have done has
given you an incredibly deep well of
experience, something which was
priceless to us. For example, it gave us
tremendous confidence that you
had done many weddings in the same venue
as ours, and you knew precisely what to
do to make sure the marble floors and
open air lobby didn’t create an echo
chamber. Another vendor (who had not
worked the Old Ebbitt before, mind you)
told us, “That won’t be a problem, don’t
worry.” But, the fact that you knew it
was a challenge of this particular venue
– and that you knew precisely what to do
to compensate – that kind of expertise
is invaluable. That expertise is why, on
the day of the actual wedding, we knew
we truly didn’t have to worry about
that. You had it under control.
It was also important to us that our
music to reflect the “playfulness” of
our personalities; we wanted to avoid
the stuffy “same old, same old” pomp of
a traditional ceremony. And following
that mantra, you created an amazing
itinerary and song-list that really
complimented our personalities and
requests well. Plus, the tempo was
perfect: no phase felt rushed, everyone
had an amazing time, and everything came
together wonderfully.
And then, after the event is over, to
have you send us high-definition,
high-quality recordings of the entire
event as well?! That was a fantastic
surprise.
Ed, I speak for myself and Debbie when
we thank you wholeheartedly for making
our special day all the more special.
And I would not hesitate for one second
to recommend your services to anyone
else planning their own special day.
Thanks again so much for being part of
our memories.

Master of Ceremonies was Ed Witles. He's
known as The Elegant DJ, and I now know
why. He was not only unobtrusive, but
played exactly the right music at
exactly the right time.
You may not have thought much about
this, but there is an art to doing this
"just right".
Ed is a master at his art. I guess
that's why he was voted one of
Washington D.C.'s best Wedding DJs. I
would have to agree with this.

Here's what one
of my friends said about the music: "I was
totally captivated by the music. That was the
first thing I noticed. It was so swingy and
classy and perfect. Your DJ didn't act
like a DJ (like my stupid one did)...but
instead, he was behind the scenes and a class
act. I think he was one of the best parts of
your wedding!"
I would
have to say that pretty much says it all--having
listened to the music now on the soundtrack you
gave us, I realize just how perfect the music
was--it was hard to focus on the music all the
time so I'm glad I had the soundtrack because I
could hear what everyone else heard while we
were too busy talking to each table of guests.
I also
love how you kept us on track and all your
announcements were PERFECT! Everyone said that
they really enjoyed that the music during dinner
was "dinner music" and not too loud so they all
could carry on a conversation at the
table--something many of them say they can't do
at most weddings and is a pet peeve.

Hi Ed:
Ed Witles, “The Elegant DJ,” did an
extraordinary job as the DJ at my
daughter Kaitlyn’s wedding reception. I
would highly recommend using Ed at any
occasion where a very professional, very
organized individual who knows his craft
extremely well is needed to enhance the
celebration.
Not only did Ed make the music portion
of the reception absolutely wonderful,
he was very easy to work with throughout
the entire process, and was very
accommodating, friendly, and helpful.
Ed was helpful and accommodating
throughout the planning process not only
to the bride and groom, but to the
parents and hotel venue as well; this
was particularly important in our case,
as we all live in different states,
hundred of miles away from each other,
and from the wedding site, so Ed’s
assistance was extremely appreciated.
Kaitlyn and I knew that we did not need
to be concerned about the details of the
music for the reception – we knew that
Ed would handle all introductions,
music, timing and details flawlessly,
and we were right. We received many
compliments on the “mix” of the music,
the “level” of the music (people could
actually talk above the music – we
receive a great many compliments on
this), and many general comments that
the music was great! If you want a
great DJ – get Ed Witles!

Hi Ed,
Yes, the guests
definitely had a great time. We’ve
received multiple comments from
guests about how good the music
selection was and how well it was
all executed.
For Paul and I,
having interacted with you through
the process, we were totally
thrilled with everything. You did a
great job of taking the musical
style and song suggestions that we
talked about and creating a vibe for
the ceremony, cocktail hour, dinner,
and dancing music that were exactly
what we were looking for!
We also really like
having the recordings of the event –
especially the ceremony and toasts.
Those moments were so special and
it’s great that we’ll be able to go
back and listen to them and re-live
them again and again for years to
come. I’m sure they’ll be cherished
as much as the wedding photos.
We would absolutely
be more than happy to serve as a
reference to any prospective
clients! Thank you so much again
for all you did to help make our day
so perfect!

I can't
believe it's been almost 4 months since our
wedding. All of that planning and it went so
fast, but we expected and knew that would
happen ;)
As far as the reception, our guests had a
fantastic time. The photos we have of folks
dancing around us and all of us as a group
was amazing. You blended in perfectly to our
concept (there, but not the "obnoxious" DJs
we have seen at current weddings).
Music
selections were wonderful, tasteful and had
great flow that kept folks on the dance
floor for HOURS (not the up-down effect you
get a some/most weddings). We truly could
have gone another hour and it would have
been as packed on the dance floor at 11:30p
as it was at 8:30p. We had an awesome time
and people still tell us they had an amazing
time!

Our guests had a wonderful time, and you're
definitely one to thank for it!
There was one point during the reception where I
was dancing with my 20-something year old
college friends...I looked to my right to see
Alex's 70-year-old aunts tearing up the dance
floor and I looked to my left to see his
3-year-old cousins dancing...I thought to myself
"this is a sign of good wedding dance-music!
people of all ages are having a good time!" So
thank you for that.
You were also very accommodating and it was a
nice surprise to have the track with all of the
songs and toasts on it!
I would be happy to serve as a reference for
other prospective couples, I have nothing but
good things to say about you and your services.
Thank you again, Yvette

We, and our guests, had a fabulous time. Your
music selections were just perfect - honestly,
I've never seen so many people continuously
dancing at a wedding like that, absolutely
everybody seemed to get out there and have a
great time! Also, thank you for keeping us on
schedule and moving us along schedule in a
timely matter - it was a great help...
All in all, we were pleased beyond any of our
expectations - it was fun, energetic, and "laid
back," just like we'd hoped it would be! We
still get comments from our guests about how
good of a time they had...
Thank you again for all of your help and in
helping to make our day so special. Please feel
free to put us down as references, or if you'd
like any comments on your website!

Ed played exactly what we wanted to hear
and granted our every wish, even in the
midst of the reception. Many of our
guests commented that Ed was the best DJ
they had ever heard at a wedding -
choosing elegant songs at the perfect
volume. We would highly recommend Ed for
any important occasion.

We did have a
wonderful time! Thank you so
much for all your organizing,
keeping us on schedule, and the
fun dance music that you played.
We had such a fabulous time on
the dance floor - and I think
you could see that our friends
and family did, too. We were so
happy to introduce all the
nieces and nephews to what a
wedding reception is all about -
dancing. We appreciated that
you played music during dinner
at just the right level, and
that once we hit the dance
floor, it was also just the
right level. We know you had to
field a lot of requests from a
lot of people, as well, so
thanks for that. You definitely
had one of our nieces thinking
that playing "Come On Eileen"
was ALL her idea. She was quite
pleased with herself. -
Eileen Funke (Bride)
Terrific job, Ed. You
made the reception a real success.
Everyone had so much fun. Many commented
"Best wedding ever". I had absolutely no
concerns about the flow. I knew you
would be able to handle whatever
happened. I'm not sure Eileen ever told
you that the kids always sing a couple
of songs to the couple, but you fit that
in easily.
Thanks. You are a gem.

Thanks for
checking in - we both had a
wonderful time at the wedding! All
of our guests have been raving that
it's the most fun they've ever had
at a wedding (we tend to agree but I
figure we are biased since it was
our own wedding!). Thanks so much
for setting the right mood and
keeping the party going all evening;
you really captured the feeling we
were going for.
I've posted a
review (I promise it's good!) on
wedding wire - I'm currently working
through the monster that is The Knot
review program but I promise to post
there as well!
Thanks again for
all of your help up to the big day

wonderful! We'd be happy to be a

We did have a
wonderful time at the wedding and as you
promised there were absolutely no issues
with the sound. I know I was really
worried about the acoustics at the Old
Ebbitt. Everyone was saying it was one
of the nicest weddings that they had
ever been to. So - I think everyone had
a fabulous time. We hope you enjoyed
yourself as well.

Just
wanted to let you know again how very
much I enjoyed the music at Jane and
Brandon's wedding. I've been to many of
my friends' children's weddings lately,
and I knew we DIDN'T
want the same experience for our
wedding.
You were
exactly what Jane was looking for in a
DJ. She wanted good music provided by
someone who wasn't there to be the
center of attention. Your introductions
and announcements were perfect. We
could understand what you said, the
volume was just right, you played the
requested music, and everyone had a
wonderful time. I will definitely
recommend you to my friends.

What a pleasure to work with Ed! He is
friendly, charming and personable and
knows how to keep the party going! I am
most impressed with how Ed goes above
and beyond the call of duty; upon
request of his bride, he provided us
with audio recordings of the entire
reception.
No one had ever done this for us before!
It meant that in addition to having the
special songs the bride and groom chose
for themselves (we usually have to ask
our brides for this after the event), we
also had a backup recording of all the
speeches and toasts. Although this
wasn't necessary, it was a very nice
option to have and a great safety net
for anyone wanting the best possible
audio. I look forward to working with Ed
again and again and recommend him highly
to any bride!

Absolutely feel free to add me to your reference
list. We, and everyone else, had a terrific time
-- we have a crew that would prefer dance the
entire time, and you made them very able to do
so. So we appreciate that!
The sound was terrific, which is no small feet
in that space. We've been fielding rave reviews
since the big event.

Ed is an
absolute pleasure to work with. He is extremely professional
and courteous, and I was highly impressed with his

It is a true
honor to work alongside him, and I highly recommend him to
anyone looking for a DJ for their reception!

It
was a beautiful and memorable wedding and your
music made it all dreamlike. You coordinated
everything masterfully. From the announcements
you made to keep everything rolling and on
schedule to the music selection.
It was perfect. The guests loved it when the
Groom put on his dance and we all enjoyed the
young crowd doing their special dances. We were
all mesmerized thanks to your being on top of
their wishes and having it all at your
fingertips.
It
is always a good sign when you can get the
guests on the dance floor. You were a big
success. Thank you again for making it all
appear effortless and making it a great event.
