Ed Witles of The Elegant DJ provided a superb service for our wedding! We had Ed for our reception only.
We sent him a “sample” playlist and he took our ideas and made it even better. We told him, “just keep people dancing” and he did! The music was awesome. My parents commented on how good the music was. I’ll never forget watching my husband’s grandmother do the Thriller dance.
On another note Ed’s setup is very small and unobtrusive. You barely notice it’s there, and he doesn’t do any silly announcements. He didn’t need to urge people onto the dance floor because the music was so good that people went on their own.
Ed Witles, the Elegant DJ, was a great choice of DJ for our wedding! He was incredibly flexible, responsive, and, as expected, played a great selection of music with only general guidance from us. In addition to being a great DJ, he was very easy to get a hold of, unlike most wedding vendors, and talk to when you needed information or had questions.
That made the booking process much easier! His equipment was great, and he was ready to provide sound amplification for the ceremony at the last minute if we said we needed it.
Also, he brought all of his own equipment with him in the event that some of the outdoor electric sockets did not work properly (and some of them did not at our venue). As he states on his website, he really is a very professional, tasteful DJ that we were proud to have at our wedding.
Thankfully we found a Wedding Channel coupon otherwise we would’ve never been able to afford Ed… and that would’ve been a total shame because he was an excellent DJ.
Ed had the challenge of playing songs that not only catered tour young and old guests but also mixed cultures steeped in tradition. We think (confirmed by our guests and a crowded dance floor the entire night) that Ed executed these challenges flawlessly. On the personal side, Ed is such a nice guy. He checked on us often to make sure that we were doing well and to offer additional support wherever needed. He was also very understanding, as we were still making tough decisions about 2 weeks from the wedding (music for parent dances, bridal party entrance, etc.). I remember I even called him from the mall to have him listen to a song they were playing over the intercom system in Macys… needless to say, it ended up being the perfect song for our bridal party entrance.
He also loves to talk about all things techy-gadget related, which my new husband absolutely loved… those occasional conversations provided a nice break from the stresses of planning a wedding.
We also learned that Ed aka the Elegant DJ is very well-known and loved in the DMV area. We met a few other DJs while attending bridal expos and showcases, and when we said that we had Ed as our DJ, they were all quite jealous, but also had very nice things to say about him, which was quite comforting considering we didn’t actually meet him until the day of our wedding!
All-in-all no real complaints, other than I wish the night lasted a little longer so that I could actually spend more time on the dance floor with our guests. Thank you Ed!
Deborah and I wanted to thank you for the splendid job you did in playing the music and managing the sound at our wedding on September 29. We received many compliments on the musical selections, and it was very obvious that our guests had a great time dancing.
Deborah says: “If we get married again, we’ll be sure to ask you to be our DJ.” Although judging from how happy we’ve been our first two weeks of married life, I don’t anticipate getting married again anytime soon!
So, thank you for helping make our wedding a magical evening.
Eric and I wanted to send a note to say thank you for helping to make our wedding awesome and quite the party! Everyone had a blast as was evident by the singing and dancing that ensued towards the end of the evening. I am still amazed how much we underestimated our crowd, however I believe the result was truly a testament to your expertise!
Thanks for everything and I have posted an excellent review on both wedding wire and wedding channel (if there are any other sites/locations to post, just let me know). Mindy
